About the author

Jędrzej Suska is a Polish baritone whose artistic work bridges performance, language, and vocal craft. He has appeared in opera productions and concerts across Europe, performing leading and character roles including Escamillo (Carmen), Papageno (The Magic Flute), Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Marcello (La Bohème), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Don Giovanni, and Arlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos). His repertoire spans Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bizet, Strauss, Menotti, and French Baroque, reflecting both stylistic versatility and linguistic range.

He completed his vocal studies at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and further refined his training in Italy, including study at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari and professional development at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.

Fluent in Polish and English and working at near-native level in Italian, French, and German, Jędrzej’s approach to opera is inseparable from language. Years of performing in multiple linguistic traditions have shaped his deep interest in diction, phonetics, and stylistic authenticity. For him, pronunciation is not merely technical accuracy—it is rhythm, color, character, and musical intention embodied in sound.

His work is rooted in the belief that great singing begins with great language.
